Penerapan Teknologi Penarik dan Perontok Rumput Laut Otomatis serta Diversifikasi Produk pada Kelompok Permata Katonik

Program Pemberdayaan Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan meningkatkan efisiensi pascapanen, keselamatan kerja, dan nilai tambah ekonomi Kelompok Permata Katonik di Desa Tirowali, Kecamatan Ponrang, Kabupaten Luwu. Mitra beranggotakan 11 pembudidaya rumput laut Eucheuma cottonii yang sebelumnya melakukan pengangkutan dan pemisahan rumput laut dari tali bentangan secara manual. Proses pemisahan membutuhkan sekitar 2–3 hari untuk 500 tali sepanjang 25 meter dan menimbulkan risiko cedera, sementara pengembangan produk olahan masih terbatas. Metode kegiatan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif melalui sosialisasi, pelatihan, penerapan teknologi, pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Teknologi yang diterapkan berupa satu unit alat penarik rumput laut dan satu unit alat pemisah/perontok otomatis, disertai pelatihan pengolahan, sanitasi pangan, pengemasan, dan pemasaran. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan kedua unit teknologi berfungsi 100%, waktu pemisahan dapat ditekan menjadi ≤1 hari per 500 tali, produktivitas meningkat hingga sekitar 80%, dan risiko cedera menurun sekurang-kurangnya 60%. Diversifikasi menghasilkan dua produk siap jual berupa keripik dan dodol rumput laut, dengan peningkatan kemampuan mitra dalam produksi dan pengelolaan usaha. Penerapan teknologi yang dipadukan dengan diversifikasi produk memperkuat efisiensi kerja sekaligus membuka peluang peningkatan nilai tambah ekonomi masyarakat pesisir.
