Literasi Visual Melalui Pelatihan Fotografi dan Videografi untuk Pelestarian Cerita, Budaya, dan Nilai-Nilai Inspiratif Lokal

Pelestarian cerita rakyat, budaya, dan nilai-nilai inspiratif lokal memerlukan strategi yang adaptif terhadap perkembangan teknologi digital, salah satunya melalui penguatan literasi visual masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan masyarakat dalam mendokumentasikan warisan budaya melalui workshop fotografi dan videografi. Metode yang digunakan adalah mixed methods dengan desain Sequential Explanatory, yang mengombinasikan penyampaian materi, praktik, observasi, wawancara, serta evaluasi melalui pretest dan posttest. Workshop dilaksanakan pada 4 Juni 2026 di Aula Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Merauke, dilanjutkan dengan praktik lapangan pada 5 Juni 2026 di Kampung Buti, Kabupaten Merauke. Peserta berjumlah 20 orang yang terdiri atas 7 dosen dan 13 mahasiswa Universitas Musamus dari Program Studi PG PAUD, Pendidikan Ekonomi, Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia, serta Ekonomi Pembangunan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta dalam menerapkan teknik fotografi, videografi, dan visual storytelling untuk mendokumentasikan cerita rakyat dan budaya lokal. Luaran kegiatan berupa foto dokumenter, video dokumenter, dan photo story yang berfungsi sebagai arsip digital sekaligus media edukasi dan pelestarian budaya lokal. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa workshop fotografi dan videografi merupakan pendekatan yang efektif dalam memperkuat literasi visual serta mendukung pelestarian warisan budaya berbasis partisipasi masyarakat.
