Jepang tidak hanya dikenal melalui budaya populernya, tetapi juga lewat berbagai tradisi yang sarat nilai sejarah dan filosofi. Salah satu warisan budaya tersebut adalah kaligrafi Jepang (Shodou), yakni seni menulis menggunakan kuas, tinta, dan kertas hanshi yang menekankan keindahan bentuk huruf. Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini dirancang untuk memperkenalkan Shodou kepada mahasiswa Politeknik Pariwisata Manado sehingga mereka dapat merasakan pengalaman langsung dalam mempelajari budaya tradisional Jepang sekaligus meningkatkan kemampuan mengenali, mengingat, dan menuliskan huruf kanji melalui latihan yang sistematis dan berulang. Dampak kegiatan ini terlihat dari meningkatnya pemahaman mahasiswa mengenai budaya Jepang serta bertambahnya antusiasme mereka dalam mempelajari kanji melalui pendekatan seni. Selain memperluas wawasan budaya, Shodou juga memberikan manfaat edukatif seperti penguatan fokus, ketelitian, kreativitas, serta kemampuan mengontrol gerakan tangan. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif, artikel ini membahas tahapan pelaksanaan kegiatan, tanggapan peserta, serta pengaruhnya terhadap pemahaman budaya Jepang dan keterampilan dasar menulis kanji. Secara keseluruhan, PKM ini menghadirkan bentuk pembelajaran yang inovatif, aplikatif, dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan pendidikan di bidang pariwisata..
