Abstract

Literasi sangat berhubungan dengan membaca dan menulis. Minimnya penanaman literasi sejak dini menjadi penyebab Indonesia menjadi negara tingkat literasi yang rendah.

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk (1) meningkatkan pengetahuan literasi kepada orang tua dan anak (2) mengembangkan literasi anak melalui lomba menggambar dan mewarnai. Kegiatan ini dilakukan berdasarkan tiga tahapan yakni. Tahapan persiapan, tahapan kegiatan, dan tahapan evaluasi. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh anak-anak mulai dari umur 6 tahun sampai 12 tahun dengan ju,lah peserta sebanyak 40 anak. Hasil ditemukan pada tahapan kegiatan yakni minimnya pengetahuan dan pendampingan orang tua terhadap anak tentang literasi sehingga kurangnya minat baca anak. Selain itu dengan menggunakan metode menggambar sebagai sebuah aktivitas yang positif dan menyenangkan dapat memberikan kontribusi besar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi anak. Dengan kegiatan ini mampu memberikan manfaat kepada masyarakat khususnya pada anak-anak.
